Job Description
Title: Drafting / Design
Department: Design
Purpose: Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting package design team with new projects and necessary sample making for customer approval of developed design. Create accurate detailed tooling and production drawings with clear instructions for process repeat-ability. Assist floor technicians with first article inspections of new jobs and verify product meets customer requirements established during product development stages. Accurate documentation control at various stages of the product.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Works closely with the package design team on new projects.
- Develops package protection that meets customer needs.
- Assures that design meets in-house yielding requirements of raw material.
- Draws finished designs from sketches.
- Builds first articles / prototypes as needed by Sales and assists floor technicians with first article inspections of new orders.
- Creates accurate drawings of samples for future reference.
- Creates accurate part, assembly, and tooling drawings of approved projects for production team.
- Has experience using Auto-CAD and Inventor.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Must be able to work as a team.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: At least one year of college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as specifications, operating instructions, and project manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The employee must occasionally bend, stoop, lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. or more. Sit, stand, or walk throughout an 8+ hour shift.
Knowledge of Lean and 5S principles is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
